Corruption has Come to be a Culture in Our Country

Telling about corruption, I think it’s not a weird thing anymore for everyone in this country. Corruption became a sway all over the world nowadays. It creates a very bad impact to the country’s education, occupation, living style, and mostly the humanity. In my opinion, corruption means the state of being bad and dishonest especially the matter concerning money that usually done by public officers that can lose the country and citizens. Corruption also means all of the action opposing law and having purpose to enrich themselves by abusing of country’s facility or country’s policy for private gain. Agree or disagree, corruption has becoming a culture in our country. It spreads in every sector. For example, we know about political corruption. To win in election, political leaders use money, to get many supports from people. They bribe the citizens to choose them in election. Sometimes, they also use woman to bribe someone who has power in government’s institution. We still remember the corruption’s case that done by Lutfi Hasan Ishaq. Money makes thing become easier. This is that embedded in our mind. If we have money, we can get anything easily. We can also find corruption’s cases in police agencies. If you want to get your driving license without following any test, you just to pay for about three hundred thousand rupiah and you don’t need to wait for a long time to get it. Why I can say like that? Because I ever proved it myself. Another case which may conclude in corruption is addition of controlled substances like borax, textile dye, or another dyes on some foods like meatball, tempe, or cereal. They want to earn more profit by reducing the material or ingredient and they can produce more products or make them more durable. Corruption also happens in some schools or universities. You may ever hear or read news about bribe especially in well-known school or university. If someone wants to be accepted in a bona fide school or university but he or she does not has good grades or not qualified, they will give money to the leader of school or university where they want to continue their study. This was an open secret and so pathetic I feel.

Whatever the practice of corruption, this is bad and harmful and so far it still exists everywhere. As we see that law in our country is not strict especially in attending corruption. Corruptors can bribe   police officer, judge or magistrate without difficulty and even now, it is still happening in our country. The government should find the way to fight against of corrupt act. The law and order must be strict in each and every sector. The tax system should be clear and transparent for everyone.  The government also has a duty to control the existence of the parties and councils. Then, always controlling the food distribution regularly is needed to avoid the use of controlled substances. We do not want our country to be an easy target for corruptors. As citizens, we always hope our country free from corruption.
